As part of the STEM BUILD at UMBC Initiative’s Research Enrichment Core, the University is working to:
- Coordinate strategic academic and research enrichment opportunities
- Create an escalating series of BUILD Group Undergraduate Research experiences to overcome limited opportunities for internships, mentorships, and research positions
- Establish and learn from an annual series of BUILD a Bridge to STEM Summer Internship opportunities for students nominated by the initiative’s collaborative partners from five community colleges and Gallaudet University. In 2017, UMBC added the nearby BUILD site, Morgan State University, to its list of participating institutions. The STEM BUILD at UMBC’s list of collaborating institutions features:
